Red-headed beauty

Red-headed beauty somewhat six degrees
on through life doing what she please
took a chance to sail the seven seas
some time ago in her dreams

Danced with peasants, popes and kings
erasing hearts every time she sings
she had time for all sorts of things
of the moments in her dreams

Dancing now in her purgatory
someday maybe we could hear her story
of her fall from grace and her glory
as she lost all of her dreams

In my sleep but only late at night
I saw the her dance in blue moonlight
only to drift softly out of sight
never again in my dreams

  1. Dreams can be so very fleeting. Thank goodness for words, which allow us to take the feels of dreams and shape them into something that lingers...

    1. I've had an overabundance of story-dreams lately but only some that I can share (because so few are interesting)
      Thank you, Magaly.

    1. One never knows, Gillena. Some characters never return but it may be a tale not to be shared. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

  5. Fascinating! A fictional or real character, I wonder. Like everyone else, I'd love to know more of her story either way.

    1. No, not a woodpecker, Colleen, although I had one furiously attack a trail camera a while back. Thank you for your kind words.

  10. I've had vivid dreams like that. But I'd definitely read more about this character should you choose to write more about her.
